Abstract

The sectorization of work in primary health care clinics is necessary in order to attain a fact-to-face relationship between the health team and the users. It facilitates access, continuity, responsibility, acquaintance, participation and well-informed freedom of choice. As a result, effectiveness, quality and efficiency of care are enhanced. Application of this technique requires sufficient staffing and space, as well as an appropriate geographic design.
