Abstract

The study was carried-out in 20% of the urbans Primary Care Centers of Santiago. The 10% of elderly outpatient was identified through a pharmacological interview vhich included: sex, aged, adverse drug reactions (ADR) narrated, signs and symptoms associated of medicines. The sample size was 422 patients of whom 177 (41,9) was narrated ADRs. The frequency of ADRs was significantly higher in females than in males (p<<0.05). Drugs induced ADRs were acetylsalicylic acid, diazepam and nifedipine. Gastrointestinal and cardiovascular systems were more affected with ADRs.
