Hábitos de consumo de medicamentos en estudiantes universitarios de la ciudad de Córdoba, Argentina, 1990
Keywords:

The results of the prevalence and characteristics of medicine intake in 5,856 students at the National University of Córdoba are described. Despite the health cure system available, no medical or dental consultation was sought among the students in a percentage of 30.4% and 37.2% respectively. 89.2% of the students had been consuming medicine for two months prior to the survey and 37.3% had consumed it on their own account. The reason for such decision vas that they vere aware of their afflictions and treatment (42.1%). The 91.59c of the cases succeeded with their medicine intake, the 3.0'7o of the cases relapsed and the 0.7'7o worsened. The 46.2% of the students surveyed received medical or dental counseling on pharmacotherapy whereas 10.2% did not. It is concluded that the high prevalence, frequently irrational, medicine intake urges the application of measures including suitable information to prescribers and users.
