Consideraciones sobre las enfermedades afectivas en Chile

Abstract

Mast probably, during previous decades, the socalled neuroses, especially those which had somatic symptoms, belonged to depressive disorders. Although there is not enough available dais, it seems to be possible that the prevalence of depressive diseases in the general ambulatory consultations of the country, is about 25%. Regarding to bipolar disorders in the especialized health care, it has been admited that in Chile they were underdiagnosed while Schizophrenia was overdiagnoses. As a result of this, we should expect a relative increase on the prevalence of affective diseases, nowadays called disorders of the sate of mind.
