Cambio climático: Un fenómeno alimentado por la desigualdad
Keywords:
climate change, Anthropocene, inequality, povertyAbstract
Currently, the anthropogenic climate change –understood as the most widespread manifestation of the Anthropocene- is classified as the greatest challenge of our time, due to the impact that the abnormal rise in environmental temperature has on the well-being and running of communities and ecosystems. However, in this situation, not all countries nor all people are exposed to the same type and degree of risk. In this regard, the literature is emphatic in upholding that the effects of climate change reproduce the inequalities between rich and poor since the degrees of vulnerability, adaptability, and mitigation express an inversely proportional relationship to the wealth of countries and people. This is why the most precarious people, including the homeless, are those who experience the effects of this phenomenon with greater rigor.
