Abstract

Various risk factors for lung and airways cancer are analysed by means of a case-control design: smoking, occupation, drinking habits, and birth place. 85 histologically proven bronchopulmonary cancer cases were collected from types Kreyberg I (49 cases) an Kreyberg II (36 cases). To each case two controls were assigned. The results show a high relative risk for smokers, whatever the histologic type. Occupations classified as risky showed likewise a significant relative risk, that reaches extreme values when associated with smoking. Drinking habits and birthpIace showed no significant risk, whatever the histological type.
