Management of great number of victims during natural or men-made disaster is analyzed, emphasizing:
1. Classification of harm produced and identification of victims to promote the adequate utilization of available resources in primary care, transportation of victims and management of the dead, pointing out the constitution of a team to work in the field.
2. Organization of health care units in rural as well regional settings to respond to the previsible increase in the demand in case of emergencies following the disaster, poimting out the importance of planning the needed changes in the organization and training of personnel.
Finally, the importance of preventive problems in health care facilities, like fires, earthquakes, etc. is analyzed.
