Nairobi 1982: Evaluación del Medio Humano 10 años después de la declaración de Estocolmo

In May 1982, in Nairobi, Kenya, on the ocassion of the 10th Anniversary of the United Nations Conference on Human Environment (Stockholm. Sweden), a meeting of the Board of Administration on the UN Program for the Environment was held. 105 countries attended the meeting as well as various UN organisms and inter-governmental and non-governmental organizations. Environ. mental problems during the last decade were reviewed and their prospects the next decade were analyzed. Five resolutions were approved in addition to the so called "Nairobi's Declaration" After Stockholm, 7 conferences on human environment were held sponsored by NU. They were the following:
- Populations (1974), Bucarest
- Food (1974), Rome
- Habitat (1976), Vancouver
- Water (1977), Mar del Plata
- Desertification (1977), Nairobi
- Science and Technology for Development (1979), Viena
- Renewable and not renewable sources of energy (1981), Nairobi.
The purpose of the Stockholm Conference was "To protect, improve and increase the human environment for the present and future generations. It is expected that this objective might be reinforced after Nairobi. Resolution I and II are summarized and resolutions III to VI are presented in full for the projection and implications they will carry on Public Health programs of any country.
