Abstract

The current doctor has met faced a series of changes in his professional activity. Stand out the emergent diseases, the increase of the survival, the supported frequency and sometimes in increase, of the chronic not transmissible diseases and his factors of risk, and the sociocultural changes and of autonomy of the patients and of his familiar environment. These new realities contrast in his clash and managing with the classic ones orientated to the diagnosis and treatment of the disease of the patient. This routine has not been capable of reducing the general mortality of the population in significant form and there is thought that it is the moment to intensify the actions of promotion and prevention of the diseases. The new doctor who must be formed, must be capable of facing this challenge with conducts and managing psico-social and rested on solid beginning ethically that reinforce and improve the relation medical-patient.
