Abstract

The Chilean Health System has a dual nature in which coexist the private and public sector. In the period from 2005 to 2013 , the public sector has underperformed private sector financing, although beneficiaries of the public sector are 81% of total national health beneficiaries . Private beneficiaries have 38.3 % more funding per capita in 2013. The pocket spending meanwhile, is one of the highest in the OECD. This paper concludes that the Chilean Health System is one of the most unequal of the OECD.
