Abstract

Trade agreements signed by Chile in the mid-nineties have obligated to modify property rights law. The inclusion of pharmaceuticals in this legal frame causes a monopoly functioning in the market. It limits public access to drugs. This paper reviews the pharmaceutical situation in Chile and the American context.
