Pending challenges for the attainment of hospital self-management within the Chilean Health System

Abstract

The Chilean Society of Hospital’s Administrators, in execution of their main social object which is to improve hospital administration in Chile; considering the articles that have been published related to hospitals’self-management; the relevant discussions in the 2009 Annual Congress of the Society; and the analyses made in meetings of the Directorate led to the final version of this document by its executive secretary, in order to share it with the Health Care Undersecretary, first, and then with the public, in order to stimulate discussion around some relevant challenges pending in the Chilean Health Reform process.
