Adolescent counselling on sexual and reproductive health

Abstract

Counselling is a support relationship established between a member of the health team and a user with the purpose of improving and/or promoting health. This paper intends to give a general vision of counselling in adolescent sexual and reproductive health, in a theoretical framework of change. Adolescence is the period of life in which risky behaviours in sexual reproductive health are starting and can continue throughout adult life, causing health damage. Promoting healthy and responsible life styles through sexual and reproductive health counselling, future harm night be avoided.
