Abstract

In Chile, medical students have to pass a knowledge test as their final examination before obtaining their professional degree. There is no satisfactory clinical performance test. An objective, structured method for the evaluation of such skills (OSCE) is presented here. This should be incorporated in the national examination and also as a requisite for physicians who have received their medical degree abroad.
