Abstract

From the viewpoint of society, indicators of the quality of health professionals are nowadays essential for providing confidence in health care systems and in the activities of the various health care providers. Besides being relevant in respect of their effectiveness they should refer to all aspects of the patient-physician relationship. This third paper on human resources for health in Chile is a review of how the concept of quality has merged into health delivery action and of the procedures implemented in order to regulate, control and sustain quality specially through learning and training experiences in health professionals’ schools.
