Maternidad en adolescentes: perfil del patrón de crecimiento del niño durante el primer año de vida
Keywords:
Embarazo en AdolescenciaAbstract
Objectives: 1. To examine the growth profil of children during their first year of life, whose mothers were treated under the Integral Attention Program for Pregnant Adolescents (P.A.I.A.E.). 2. To analyze the influence of the maternal and neonatal factors on the anthropometric factors at the three moments of the first year of the infants. Methodology: A study of longitudinal follow-up of a cohort of 125 infants was designed. Independent variables: weight, height, craneal perimeter at birth, sex Apgar one and five minutes, pediatric gestational age, classification of weight according to gestational age and maternal biodemographic variables. Dependent variables: weight, height and its increments at month, six months and a year. The data analysis was carried out with conventional statistical procedures. Results: The anthropometric growth of the infants indicat that the values for weight and height present better results in weight than in height; averages lower for girls than for boys. The weight and sex of the newborn explain the 74,3% weight variability at the age of one mouth. The height, weight and pediatric gestational age of the newborn explain the 77,79c height variability after the first month. These variables loose importance as explanatory variables at the age of six and twelve months. Conclusion: Factors that influence the anthropometric growth of the infants after the first month need to be determined with future research.
