La memoria del hospital una herramienta de gestión: experiencia del Hospital San Martin de Quillota

Abstract

The experience of Hospital San Martin, of Quillota in producing an Annual Report (Memoria) of its clinical, administrative and educational activities and utilizing it as a mangement tool is rather unique among, health establishments. The objetives of the Report are twofold: first, to improve the services provided, through better internal management: second, to account publicly for the use of the funds received and the results obtained. Thus there is greater satisfaction among both staff and user. It is feasible to prepare such a report with the resources available in a public hospital. In the process, planning and evaluation are improved; team work and staff involvement are strenghtened, and the institutions in inserted more effectively in the life of its community.
