Abstract

The Professional Nutritionist training is described by means of study plans in areas and sectors comparing it with international recommendations for Latin American. The applied instrument has been proposed by OPS/OMS; ACODIN, adapted to Chilean necessities. 335 nutritionists (21 %), have been surveyed, suggesting training modifications, since a common study plan at training organisms is needed. Moreover, not only a continuing training University program on specific areas is requied, considering the working field needs but also, a bigger acknowledgment of its developmental level, autonomy, as well ‹is the right consideration to its professional potential to the needs of the country’s social and economical development policies.
