Abstract

The objective of this study was determinate the frequency of malocclusions in children of both sexes between 4 and 5 years and 11 months old applied the Classification of Bonn modified. The sample was of 141 children (65 girls and 76 boys) from the D-59 República del Paraguay Public School from the north area of the Región Metropolitana. From the total of the sample (141), 59.6% (84) showed at least 1 dentomaxilar abnormality. From a total of 112 malocclusion, the major prevalence (44.6%) was parcial tissue loss (interproximal or extensive caries). In second place were the open bites and anterior cross bites with a 22.3% and 15.2% respectively. In cases of decaes and open bites, are both problems easly prevention through chilhood education and their parents in the oral health care and periodics visits to the dentist. In these cases the doctors role is very important, who can teach the parents and be able to send back to the dentist at the right time.
